Description

Still I Rise by Maya Angelou is one of the most inspirational and recognizable poems of the 21st century, celebrating self-love and acceptance. At Poem Analysis, we wanted to illustrate this beautiful poem in art format, onto your very own original-design framed poster.

Some notes from Emma, the artist behind this piece:

When considering the underlying themes of perseverance and strength in Maya Angelou’s Still I Rise,’ I selected a flower, growing in dry desert landscape, to symbolize those themes. I was inspired by these lines from the poem: “I rise / Up from a past that’s rooted in pain / I rise”.
In this painting the vibrant red stands out against a white background, contrasted powerfully with the green stem and buds at the base of the flower. By focusing the viewer’s eye on the flower as the most important element of the painting, one should consider its experience and how it embodies themes of strength.

Make a statement in any room with this framed poster, printed on thick, durable, matte paper. The matte white/black frame that’s made from wood from renewable forests adds an extra touch of class.
